Our History
Mr. Dennis H. Brent was born in Bonham, Texas and grew to accomplish many feats in education. He graduated from Lewisville High School. He received his Bachelor's of Science degree from The University of North Texas and later earned his Master's of Educational Administration from Texas Woman's University.
Following several years as a classroom teacher, he moved to administration as an assistant principal at Hedrick Middle School in Lewisville ISD. From there, he moved to the Carrollton ISD serving in leadership roles at Dewitt Perry Junior High and Carrollton Junior High. The following four years, he served as principal of Lake Travis Middle School in Austin.During this time he received his Superintendent's Certification from Southwest Texas State University. He then became the Deputy Superintendent of Lake Travis ISD in Austin where he gained three years of leadership experience.The Little Elm ISD Board of Trustees named him superintendent of schools in 1992. He served in that capacity until his retirement in 2001.Under his leadership, student enrollment doubled in size. He successfully guided the district through the construction of three buildings. Along with setting high standards for the school district, he worked to build a strong bond between the schools and our community.
